I met Cindy Gellerson outside Birds on a gloriously sunny day in Hollywood. I could tell it was Cindy approaching me because she had the cutest black convertible bag and vintage inspired sunglasses. Eager to see the Busted bags she brought along from her spring collection, we ran to her car so I could get a peek. Beautiful aged leather in the sophisticated and versatile color of blue steel, I could not help oohing and aahing over the men’s laptop bag and women’s purse. The women’s purse has a pretty ivory satin interior with removable pockets that can store phones, makeup and other things that get lost among the depths of our large purses. She is currently involved in the Grammy Style Studio, where her bags will be styled for celebs on the red carpet.Asked about people that want to enter fashion, but are hesitant to leave the security of their full-time job, Cindy says that many fashion and design schools (like California Design College) offer night classes. Cindy says, “Design is about two percent—most of the work involves being on the phone and internet, driving around town and picking up fabrics.” Cindy revealed she is being watched closely as the newcomer onto the scene.
