In this exclusive interview with Handbago, Kellyn tells us what makes her clutches stand out.Q: When was feNa born?A: Well, at first I went to school for architecture and got my license in 2008. Then in 2009 I started playing around with the idea of handbags and began sketching. In the summer of 2010, feNa was officially born.Q: What inspired you to begin designing clutches?A: I've always carried a clutch, and back in the day they were hard to come by. My interest in trying to find something new and interesting coincided with my passion for design...these two things sort of meshed together to create feNa.Q: The name of your brand is captivating. How did you come up with it?A: feNa stands for 'for everything N anything.' With feNa, it's all about being the whole package: providing a clutch for everyone, for any event, that holds anything and everything. There's a clutch for any time of day and every dress code, and you can hold all of your things in it as well!Q: What is the most rewarding part about designing handbags?A: I remember when my first order came in and I went to drop the package off at the post office. I just went into my car and screamed with excitement! Just having that feeling that you know someone is searching and looking at your products is extremely rewarding.Q: What does feNa's future look like?A: I want there to be steady growth and loyal and happy customers. Of course, I would also like to explore more with different textures and materials. Once the brand gets more recognized, I would love to do add a perfume collection to it. I can already see the bottle lined up at Sephora!Q: Having designed so many clutches, which one is your favorite?A: That's tough! I think that the Gratitude is really adorable, but I carry my Abundance clutch a lot. It fits everything, it's a cute size, and the Caramel color is neutral enough to match any outfit while making you look stylish while doing it. It comes in a variety of colors, too, so there's no problem finding one that will add a bold pop of color.Q: How would you describe your personal style?A: My wardrobe consists of simple neutrals. I think that with an outfit, it's fun to start with a sample base and then build on it with accessories and handbags. After all, that's my specialty!Q: If we didn't find you designing handbags, what would we find you doing?A: I love watching tennis and vacationing to beautiful beach spots like Cancun. I also enjoy nature photography, as a lot of the textures and color palettes in nature can relate to materials that are chosen for feNa.Q: I have to ask- what do you carry in your purse?A: Oh! I carry business cards, credit cards, my keys, cell phone, and lip gloss.
