Celebrate National Vegetarian Day with Animal-Friendly Handbags (Sep 18, 2011)
October 1st marks National Vegetarian Day--we couldn't believe it either! A day for vegetarians everywhere to rejoice in their vegetarianism, and also a day to enjoy non-animal and non-meat foods and products.Although most Americans eat meat and wear leather, did you know that vegetarians and vegans have a 40% less chance of being diagnosed with cancer than those meat-eaters who only consume white meat (which is better for you than red meat)? In addition, it takes 2 weeks for your body to process and digest the meat that you consume! Can you imagine having 2 weeks-worth of food constantly in your body? Did you know that the production of meat foods, including producing animals' foods, managing animals' health and living spaces and producing the machinery to kill and process animals leaves the largest carbon footprint of all industries? So, what's the harm in refraining from the consumption of meat just this one day?As a vegetarian myself, I decided to stop my meat-eating ways simply for health reasons. However, I'm a huge fan of fur in the fashion industry. Seems to be contradiction, right? Wrong.I'm also a huge advocate for the humane treatment of animals, and there isa wrong way to treat animals--whether it be pure bred dogs born in puppy mills, farms where animals are raised living in their own fecal matter, or even fur farms where animals are being skinned alive. This is a huge problem, but it has barely surfaced to the public since industries keep things under wraps in order to profit as many dollars as possible. I can't imagine the fashion industry without fur, but if skinning an animal alive is the only way to make that perfect vest that I've been looking for--I don't want it anymore! This goes for handbags as well! With the fur trend being very prominent this season, I encourage everyone to stay informed of where their clothes are coming from (China is known for their abusive fur farms). Even Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel has said, "Animals should be killed nicely if at all possible." Here are some handbags that are animal-friendly, fashion-forward and absolutely perfect for this season!Happy Vegetarian Day!Faux FurAs we all know, this fall season has been the first for Chanel in the use of faux fur, which they deem as "Fantasy Fur." As a luxury brand that has been around a quite a while, Chanel always creates classic collections. In a new era, Karl Lagerfeld is changing it up and evolving the dearly loved brand. He proves that faux anything doesn't need to be cheap with this Quilted Lambskin and Fantasy Fur Zipped Shopping Bag.Faux LeatherStella McCartney is known for eco-friendly and ever so stylish clothing, accessories and handbags, which is why this label is perfect for celebrating National Vegetarian Day! Chained edging and detailing really vamp up this Shaggy Deer Foldover Falabella Tote, and the idea of having a versatile style is great for both day and night-wear!Urban Expressions is a vegan handbag line that prides itself on being green and eco-friendly as well as being humane to animals. This brand refrains from using any animal product, whether it be fur or hide, in any of their designs. This Alexis Clutch is perfect for going out, since its wristlet strap simply slips over your wrist for easy carrying, and it also comes in a wide range of colors! Not only can you get this cute vegan clutch from any of Urban Expressions' retailers, but you can also WIN this clutch exclusively from Handbago! Check out how you can win this clutch! Gucci Sunglasses The Styles For 2010 (Sep 18, 2011)
Gucci Sunglasses The HistoryGucci was founded in 1906 by Guccio Gucci who was the son of a craftsman. Guccio's primary skill in design was his ability to create leather goods and thus started his career by selling leather bags to horsemen in the 1920. In 1938 Gucci opened his first retail shop on the Via Condotti in Rome. During the 1950 the brand had created some of its most iconic products that are still popular and very much sought after today including luggage, handbags and ties and enabled the label to open stores in a range of global fashion capitals including Paris, Beverly Hills, London, Palm Beach, and Tokyo. The 1960 saw the brand becoming popular with the celebrities with Hollywood stars as Grace Kelly, Peter Sellers and Audrey Hepburn, favouring the brand and associating it with chic and sophisticated. Jackie Kennedy was also snapped sporting the Gucci shoulder bag, which subsequently became known as the famous jackie Gucci Sunglasses - Frida GianniniIn the 1990, Tom Ford became the Creative Director of Gucci and was responsible for the introduction of further product lines including a wider array of leather goods, fashions, perfumes, cosmetics, shoes, watches, jewellery, silk scarves and sunglasses. Frida Giannini was appointed as the Creative Director of Leather Goods and she oversaw the design of the range of Gucci sunglasses in addition to many other accessories by the brand. When Ford left in 2005, Giannini took over as Creative Director. Gucci Sunglasses The StylesGucci sunglasses are the ultimate in luxury and glamour and the brand is highly associated with only the most sophisticated and fashion aware individuals. The style remains classic yet constantly on trend and the collection of Gucci sunglasses includes a great selection of oversized, wraparound styles, aviators, and shields or visor styles, all complete with the famous Gucci logo. There are some stunning new styles for 2010 which include a selection of oversized frames that take retro inspiration with their more square shaped and defined lenses and flat top frame section. This is a sunglass style which has become very fashionable over the past season and is a key trend for this season. In an array of colours including white, brown, black and tortoiseshell there is something to compliment every skin tone and style preference. Of course, the classic oversized sunglasses as worn by Kylie Minogue, Lucy Liu and Gwyneth Paltrow are a firm favourite and again experiment with vibrant and beautiful colours such as blue, turquoise and violet perfect for stepping into spring! The new aviator styles are also delicately beautiful and a little more subtle than the classic oversized frames. Fine detailing is also popular within the collection, particularly positioned on the arm hinge whereby the Gucci logo is often presented in either the double GG style or as the crest logo. The logo is more overstated in some of the more typically glamorous style Gucci sunglasses.Gucci Sunglasses A Proud to Own AccessoryGucci is a designer label that is highly renowned and respected for its quality products and incredibly sophisticated style. You will always be proud to own a pair of Gucci sunglasses that are timelessly classic but always on trend.

All of the top brands are not only popular in design, but they are also made with high quality materials and stamped with the designers logo and seal of approval. So what are the differences between these top brands? Are there some that are better than others? Which ones are most expensive?Ray Ban is one designer that is popular today. The company was founded in 1937 and is responsible for the introduction of two of the most imitated designs for sunglasses ever, the Aviator style and the Wayfarer style.
